In an effort to educate staff members and residents in long-term care facilities about the COVID-19 vaccine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention created a library of social media messages for long-term care providers. The CDC focused on three different areas in the hopes of alleviating fear about the vaccine.

Vaccine Benefits | Vaccine Safety | What to Expect

The posts and their accompanying digital art are for use on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and are available on the CDC website. The goal of the campaign is to educate staffers so they are more inclined to get vaccinated.

According to the American Health Care Association / National Center for Assisted Living, now that vaccines are available, the hesitancy issue needs addressing.

“Uptake among residents and staff is varying widely,” President and CEO Mark Parkinson, said. “But in general, staff seem to be mirroring the general public’s reaction: excitement mixed with hesitation about the vaccines’ development and safety… The faster we get people vaccinated, the more lives we can save.”

The CDC hopes its social media campaign will help.
